The 2017 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl will feature San Diego State (10-2) facing off against Army (9-3). Army is scheduled to be the home team, and San Diego State serving as the visitor.
In 2013, the Armed Forces Bowl became the first game to have hosted all three service academies. These include five appearances by the United States Air Force Academy (2007 and 2015 vs. Cal, 2008 and 2009 vs. Houston, and 2012 vs. Rice), two appearances by the United States Naval Academy (2013 vs. Middle Tennessee, 2016 vs. Louisiana Tech) and the United States Military Academy (2010 vs. SMU).
Since the inception of the game, the bowl has hosted Pac-12 Conference, Big 12 Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Western Athletic Conference, Mountain West Conference, American Athletic Conference, Conference USA and FBS Independent schools.
