Proactive and agile, Matt Woodward is the Vice President of Cloud Sales at Rand Group, with over 20 years of experience helping small and mid-market businesses launch, transform, and scale their operations through cloud technology. His inspiring background combines over 14 years in leadership at Microsoft Corporation and 6 years in small business development and advisory as President of Piney River Ventures. A strategic leader and intuitive sales consultant, Matthew has a wealth of experience in cloud business model design and development for SaaS and IT Services, go-to-market strategy and execution, as well as financial forecasting on cloud subscription revenues.

With a passion for business improvement and operational excellence, Matthew spent 14 years building a reputation as an influencer and leader at Microsoft. He held various positions during this time, including Director of Dynamics Channel Partners, Director of Programs & Business Strategy, and Microsoft US and Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, and made a considerable impact on the development of the Microsoft Dynamics Channel Partner Program.

Following his career at Microsoft, Matthew served as co-founder and operating director of Piney River Ventures, a business consulting and advisory service to help launch, scale, and capitalize small businesses. Acting as the President/CRO, Matthew provided strategic consulting to growing businesses, advisory boards and investment firms, helping them go-to market, implement operational efficiency, and raise capital to support their growth needs. As President, COO, and CMO of SMB Suite, a start-up SaaS company based in Dallas, Matthew transformed their traditional IT services business into a 100% recurring revenue Platform as a Service (PaaS) business. Under his leadership, the company grew 5-fold in 24 months. SMB Suite was also recognized as Microsoft Cloud Partner of the Year in 2012, 2013 & 2014.

Through Piney River Ventures, Matthew also served as President and CRO of two local SaaS companies, epaCUBE, Inc. and Eruza. He transformed epaCUBE’s perpetual license model to subscription cloud services, leading to new recurring revenue streams, and successfully launched retail start-up, Eruza’s cloud and prediction-as-a-service product, from concept to revenue, in 6 months.

Work hard and serve hard is Matthew’s motto. Outside of work, Matthew enjoys community service both locally and abroad with his family, specifically in Community Transformation services such as Urban Development and Fresh Water initiatives. Matthew currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Amazon Outreach, a faith based organization focused on delivering fresh water, nutrition, and medical support to the 30,000 villages along the Amazon River of Brazil.
