Jay Curry has an extensive background as an entrepreneur, business coach, and Big-4 consulting partner. In all these roles he served C-level leaders of both privately held, middle-market and large public Fortune 500 companies. He started his first venture, a computer service bureau, at age twenty-three. Twenty years later he leveraged his Big-4 consulting experience to form his own management-consulting firm. As CEO of this highly successful firm he was honored as an Indiana Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist and was awarded the “Sagamore of the Wabash”; the highest honor an Indiana Governor can bestow on an citizen. For five years Jay served as advisor and consultant to Sam Walton on computer controls, productivity, and software selection, often reporting directly to Mr. Walton.
His fifteen years with the Big-4 accounting firms include seven years with the Young side of Ernst & Young as a consultant then manager, five years with the Coopers side of PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he joined as a Director of a two person consulting practice, grew it forty-five consultants, then became the Partner-in-Charge of the Indiana management consulting practice. During his three years with Deloitte’s Management Solutions Group he served on two national committees and lead the three-state Technology division.
In 2005 Jay and Nancy, his wife of forty-five years, settled in Houston where Jay served as a CIO partner for Tatum Partners until he until Vistage International asked him to build a Vistage CEO peer group. He filled his roundtable with sixteen members in six month. Jay is the recipient of ‘Rookie of the Year’ award, ‘Chair Excellence’ award, and ‘Master Chair’ designation. Today, Jay leads four Vistage groups, is a certified professional coach (PCC), a certified professional Co-Active coach (CPCC), and a Vistage Master Chair.
When Jay is not coaching or fly-fishing he is likely writing about something. He has co-authored three internationally successful books on computers, won two awards for his short fiction, and recently released his full-length novel, Nixon and Dovey, which hit #1 on Amazon’s ‘Hot New Releases’ list and has so far won two 2015 national book awards.
